Notepad printing is not an uncommon task that some companies use to spread awareness about themselves. It might not be the traditional public relations tool, but a custom pad printing design given to a lot of people can spread the word about your company and its services.

It can be something very precious and personal that can still help them with their profession. So if you want to give the gift of custom notepads to a writer friend, or you may want to give your writing staff personal notepads to improve their morale, below area few tips on how notepad printing aimed for professional writers.

Mind the notepad size: The first thing that you should mind when creating custom notepads is the size or dimensions. Most writers would always want to carry their notepads around for easy access. However, if the size is too small, it might not be enough for any kind of prolonged use. So you have to strike a balance between mobility and capacity with your custom notepad gifts. A good size though would be a 4.25 by 5.5 inch notepad, or a quarter of a letter size for writers doing lots of field work. If however your target writers are more desk based ones, then you can go for a standard letter sized notepad or any variations in between that and the smaller dimensions as well. Managing the size of your notepads can be crucial on how useful they would be to the writers, so always decide carefully when playing with his option.

Design for durability: Next, always try to design your notepads for durability. This means making the notepad materials tougher and long lasting. They should be able to resist some common environmental effects like moisture, heat, dirt and dust. Also, try to have the notepads covered in some kind of hard cardboard cover or thick paper to protect the delicate paper underneath. Highly resistant paper and plastic covers should be a good choice for notepad printing of you want them to resist damages and environmental effects. The plastic cover should protect the pages from actual physical harm while the improved paper stock should make the notepad pages resist any kind of accident.

Correct binding options: Also, writers usually want to tear away notepad pages if they don’t like what they wrote, or if they want to give the information to somebody else. Hence, it is a good idea to have your custom notepads bound with a process that makes tearing of pages easy. Ring binding, spiral binding and adhesives should be your best option if you want writers to really find your notepads useful. Having that easily teared off page is just part of what a successful notepad should be to make them very useful in taking down notes.

Pad design with impact: Lastly, for the more personal or customized impact of your notepads, always put in a design element that should appeal to the receivers of the notepad. A nice watermark with the writer or journalist’s favorite image should be a nice addition. Also quotes from famous writers and mottoes are a good thing to put into your custom notepads. Lastly, the author’s name and printed signature should also be a good idea for a design, giving the notepad an aura of authority much like doctor’s prescription pads do. These ideas should make the receivers of the notepad appreciate the customization involved in making them. It should impact them in a personal way, marking it as a very memorable gift for that certain special event.

Great! That should be the main things that you need to know on notepad printing for journalist and writers. Just follow these steps well and your notepads should look very beautiful while still being useful for the writers and journalists of your life.

Impact printer has mechanisms similar to a typewriter. Form characters or images, creating a mechanism such as a hammer or wheel against a ribbon printing, so that the image on paper. Impact printers are disappearing, but you can still get in contact with a dot-matrix printer. A matrix printer contains a print head of small pins to strike a ribbon to form characters or images. Printheads are with 9, 18 or 24 availablePins, which offers 24-pin is the best print quality. Dot-matrix printers offer a choice between the quality of project outputs in a more coarse 72 dots per inch vertically, which may be acceptable for draft documents and reports, and as quasi-point, one aspect sharper 144 dots per inch vertically, which is more suitable for a finished product, which will be shown to other people.

Dot matrix printers through 40-300 characters per second (CPS) and some graphics for print, even ifPlayback quality is poor. Bands are for limited use of colors available. Dot matrix printers are noisy, expensive, and can be replaced by several components of the printing forms, multiple copies of a page that is not at the same time, the printer ninimpact can do.

Non impact printers, used almost everywhere now be faster and quieter than impact printers because they have fewer moving parts. Not impact printer forms characters and images without direct physical contact between the printing and paper.

Two typesNon impact printers, often used with microcomputers are laser printers and inkjet printers.

Laser: How matrix printers, laser printers to produce images with the points. But, as in a photocopying machine, computer, these images on a drum, treated with a magnetic charge toner cartridge (powder), created and then transferred from drum to paper.
– There are good reasons why laser printers are so popular. They produce crisp, sharp images of text and graphicsoffers resolutions of 300 dpi to 1200 dpi, which is down near the quality (NTQ). They are quiet and fast. 4-32, text pages per minute for all you can micro-computer for printing, and more than 120 pages per minute for mainframes. (Pages with more graphics to print more slowly.) You can print) in many fonts (styles and sizes. The more expensive models can print in various colors.

– Hide laser printers have built-in RAM chips for the computer output documents. If youwork in desktop publishing and printing of complex documents with color and lots of graphics, you need a printer with lots of RAM. Laser printers also need to save their own ROM chips for the Scriptures and their own small dedicated processor. In order to complex graphics and page design, a laser printer managing working with a page description language, a kind of software that has become a standard for graphics printing on laser printers. A PDL (Page Description Language) is a software describes the shape and placement of letters and graphics to the printer. PostScript of Adobe Systems, is a common type of page description language, HPGL, Hewlett-Packard Graphic Language, is another.

Ink-jet printer: as laser and dot matrix printers, ink jet printers also form images with dots. Inkjet printers spray small, electrically charged droplets of ink from four nozzles through holes in a die at high speed on paper.

– Ink –Printers> Jet can print in color and are quieter and much less expensive than a color laser printer. But are slower and the press with a slightly lower resolution (300-720 dpi) than laser printers. Some new, expensive inkjet ink printing up to 1200 or 1400 dpi. High resolution requires the use of special coated paper that costs more broadly. And if you print color images on a high-resolution inkjet printer, so that they can be 10 minutes or morefor a single page, connect printing.

– A variation on ink jet technology is the bubble – inkjet printers, which use miniature heating elements to use the print heads in inkjet specially formulated with 128 small force. The many images of nozzle FINE print at high speed. This technology is widely used in portable printers.

If you are delivering a PowerPoint presentation on a relatively large screen, you can use a wireless laser pointer to quickly point out important information on the slides to your audience.

There are generally two choices. You can either go for a proper presentation remote that will have a laser pointer and will also let you control the presentation slides wirelessly. Or you can go for a wireless mice – they can be easily be used for navigating the slides from a distance and some of them even have a built-in laser pointer.

However, if you don’t have a wireless remote, you can use this trick to turn your good old wired mouse (or the touchpad on your laptop) into a laser pointer.

Use a Regular Mouse as a Laser Pointer
Launch your presentation inside PowerPoint 2010, hold the CTRL key and then click the left mouse button anywhere on the slide.

The pointed arrow will automatically turn into a red laser pointer as shown in the screenshot /video demo below.

You will find this trick extremely handy when delivering live presentations over the web using the “Broadcast Slideshow” feature of Office 2010.

A binder clip is a device for holding items together neatly. Its primary use is to hold small to large quantities of paper. The binder clip is comprised of a piece of metal bent into the shape of a triangle, with one point open. Through the two ends of the open point, two wire arms are looped through to facilitate the opening and closing of the binder clip. The arms are usually placed in the down position, against the paper to provide more security, or one arm may remain up for a hanging option. Arms may also be removed for a more permanent binding solution.

Besides the regular using, there are some other fun about the blinder clip.

Above you can see that these binder clips (its hard to call them C-clips, it doesn’t flow right for some reason) look pretty cool, and come in two sizes, medium and large. They also come in different colors, including red, blue, yellow, green, and I think purple. I didn’t get any purple ones in my package, but the OfficeMax site does show some of them, so I assume that the random assortment I got just didn’t happen to have any.

One of the great things about regular binder clips is that they are pretty versatile and can be used to create things and do things with that were not their originally intended use. Seeing the crescent shape in the center of these made me think they would make a cool looking little pen holder, so I pulled the arms out like you would with standard binder clips, and set them on their back with the crescent facing up, and the Sharpie Stainless Steel Marker that I had on hand fit perfectly in there. I’m sure there are a ton of other great uses for these binder clips, like using them to hold loose wires and what not, but I have not had them long enough to fiddle around and think of such things, so please feel free to share any ideas that you might have

Look for a product called melamine. It is a fiberboard sheet that has a hard plastic-like coating on one side. Sometimes they are textured to look like tile, which could help if you need to layout squares, but this usually gets in the way. Choose a smooth finish since they erase easier and look better when written on.

Pick up the glue/screws/hangers/etc. you plan to hang it with. You may also want to dress it up with some trim, or a ledge to hold your markers.

If you want to divide your board, purchase some automotive pin striping from an auto repair store. Black pinstripe comes in two sizes, 1/4″ and 1/8″, which work well for a bold yet regular effect. You can get pinstripe in lots of colors, sizes, and even some patterns.

In the past, we learned foreign language from teacher mouth to mouth. Later on, we use the personal stereo or repeater to study what we learned. For these years, more and more learing tools were invented for helping children to learing easily and conveniently.

Language learning pen is one of the learing tools. The language learing pen can pronounce when you point some words or phrase.

The intelligent pen contains 1217 common words and phrases, and you can use it to scan Mandarin text and then it will pronounce the words correctly.

The Mandarin phonetic system is extremely complex, so this could be an invaluable study aid, as it will allow you to make sure you get the correct pronunciation. It has a built in speaker, and you can also plug in headphones through the 3.5mm jack. The pen comes with an illustrated dictionary, which works as a study aid, and used in conjunction with the pen, should give you a clear idea of many common Mandarin words.

It’s powered by 3 AAA batteries, and can also double as an MP3 player for when you get tired of learning, as it has a 2GB capacity.

When I was a child, I use the handle crank pencil sharpener to ground up pencils. You would simple turn the dial (if it had one) on the sharpener to fit the pencil and then manually turn the handle to sharpen your pencil.Sometimes the lead from the tip of the pencil would break off inside the sharpener and jam it up, but for the most part they took lots of punishment and kept sharpening. We also had the smaller sharpeners that barely fit in our fingers that you put the pencil into and twisted the pencil until it was sharp.

Mechanical Sharpener:
The classic look sharpeners that mount on the wall or desk are still great buys. The Boston KS Pencil Sharpener ($14) is very versatile with 8 sizes of pencils accepted into the sharpener. The 30 cutting edges will sharpen all pencils quickly and efficiently. Features a black stand and a nickel plated barrel. There are screws included to help you mount the sharpener to the wall or on your desk. You will find this model at Dickblick.com.

Basci Manual Pencil Sharpener:
Not everyone needs a fancy pencil sharpener and the manual types are lightweight and function just fine. They are not meant for more than a few sharpenings here and there, but at less than $5 what do you expect. Office Depot carries the Staedtler 2 Hole metal pencil sharpener for $4 and the Foray single hole sharpener for around $1. They are cheap and fit nicely into your little ones backpack for school purposes.

We found many teachers recommending the Boston brand on several websites, but the Panasonic electric pencil sharpeners win out as the “best electric sharpeners” on the market.

For office and work environments where the sharpener will get used often, consider going with a more durable, heavy duty electric sharpener like the X-Acto Heavy-Duty 41 Pencil Sharpener which is sold on Dickblick.com.
