Sitting in an office chair for prolonged periods of time can definitely cause low back pain or worsen an existing back or neck problem. So it is very important to choose a comfortable chair for your health. The right chair can make you feel comfy and relaxing. This is a main factor of working well.

There are many types of ergonomic chairs available for use in the office. No one type of office chair is necessarily the best, but there are some things that are very important to look for in a good ergonomic office chair.

Seat height. Office chair seat height should be easily adjustable.

Seat width and depth. The seat should have enough width and depth to support any user comfortably. Usually 17-20 inches wide is the standard.

Lumbar support. Lower back support in an ergonomic chair is very important.

Backrest. The backrest of an ergonomic office chair should be 12 to 19 inches wide. If the backrest is separate from the seat, it should be adjustable in height and angle.

Armrests. Office chair armrests should be adjustable.

Seat material. The material on the office chair seat and back should have enough padding to be comfortable to sit on for extended periods of time. Having a cloth fabric that breathes is preferable to a harder surface.

Swivel. Any conventional style or ergonomic chair should easily rotate so the user can reach different areas of his or her desk without straining.

Can you have a cactus in your office?

Cactus

A green palnt may be add some fun and interesting for your work space. If you are a slacker, I suggest you to buy a cactus for your office. It is a good decoration as well as a  good friend that be good for your health.

A living cactus on every office desk is a great way to acknowledge the duality of our work. On one hand, we are forced to arm ourselves for competition and negotiation. On the other, we have the opportunity to use our company to better the world. Ferocious yet elegant, rugged but exquisite, this universal balance is as important in the workaday world as it is in the evolution of a cactus.

Bowls of cacti mixtures as well as Christmas Cactus or Thanksgiving Cactus are perfect for busy offices. The mixed variety bowls makes lovely boardroom centerpieces without the cost of fresh flowers. They will tolerate extreme neglect, and produce colorful, unusual flowers. Christmas Cactus most often flowers red or dark pink.

It’s best to keep your cactus in a lightweight plastic nursery pot. Slide this into a decorative metal or ceramic pot with no drain hole. These are known as cachepots. To water your cactus, remove the plastic pot from the cachepot, give it a good soaking and then allow to drain thoroughly. Only when it’s no longer dripping should you return it to its cachepot to prevent any moisture accumulation in the bottom.

Work with the music

Aug31

Music can affect emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills. Music in the workplace, either from piped-in music or from a radio, is sometimes used to mask sounds. Music can provide mental stimulation while performing monotonous tasks, which can help to reduce stress levels in the office. Some people, however, find music in the office intensely annoying, especially if it is too loud or inappropriate.

I was thinking of how awesomely random the music they use on The Office is. I mean, they’ll dig up some song I haven’t thought of in like ten years and feature it in a hilarious way.So I made up a playlist of a bunch of songs that are featured on the show.

1. “Sing” by Travis – after the staff finishes their reading of “Threat Level: Midnight” Jim and Pam have dinner on the roof. Then they come back down and listen to this song on Jim’s iPod.

2 “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake (this is an acoustic version because I couldn’t find the real one) – Phyllis sings this on the Karaoke machine at Jim’s party.

3. “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor – Kevin sings this on the Karaoke machine at Jim’s party

4. “Islands in the Stream” by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton – Michael and Jim sing this as a duet at Jim’s party

5. “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morrissette – Kevin sings this karaoke at the Christmas party

6. “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John – Michael sings this at the Dundies with different lyrics

7. “OPP” by Naughty by Nature – Michael sings this at the Dundies with different lyrics

8. “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by the Police – Karen sings this, backed by Scrantonicity, at Phyllis’ wedding.

9. “Lovefool” by the Cardigans – Jim sings this to annoy Karen after she tried to annoy him by squeaking her chair

10. “Closer to Fine” by the Indigo Girls – Jim and Andy sing this after getting loaded on Jaegermeister

The cute bookmark for a bookwarm

Aug19

bookmark

For a bookwarm,  the bookmark is a useful and necessary goods while reading. Today. the bookmark has been changed a lot. The style, picture and color are very different from it was before. Let’s go to have a look at the cute bookmark.

The owl and the pussycat, together forever on this cute bookmark! The silver bookmark is approximately 3″ long and is slim enough to fit comfortably in your book. The owl and cat are glass lampwork beads, each about 3/4″ long. Very cute.

The inspiration for this bookmark came from a childhood poem that most of us know in some form or another. Here is an excerpt from the original poem by Edward Lear for your literary enjoyment:

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
‘O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!’

Pussy said to the Owl, ‘You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?’
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

Health and office work

Do you know your health is reducing day by day when you work in the office. Office environments are mostly set up to accommodate as many individuals as possible in a confined space, at maximum cost efficiency. This means that desks, chairs and computers are generally set up one way only, without regard to an individual’s height or size, etc.

According to a report published this month by the American Journal of Epidemiology, middle-aged workers working for more than 55 hours a week have poorer mental skills, short-term memory and word recall than those working less than 41 hours over the same period. However, the specialist says there are a number of salient connections between other factors affecting the quality of our working environment and stress levels, as well as the spread of disease.

Fatness is a common problem of office worker. This is because they sit in front of computer the whole day and the calories can not burn completly. So you ‘d better Walk or bike to work. If you ride the bus, get off a few blocks early and walk the rest of the way. Exercise doesn’t need to go by the wayside when you’re traveling. If you’re stuck in an airport waiting for a plane, grab your bags and take a brisk walk. Organize a lunchtime walking group. You might be surrounded by people who are ready to lace up their walking shoes — and hold each other accountable for regular exercise.

According to the charity BackCare, sitting badly, or sitting on a badly designed chair, can put too much pressure on the muscles of the lower back, potentially causing serious back pain that can become a chronic problem. Find out how to adjust your chair to maximise comfort. The best posture is to sit back in your chair, not perched at the front, with your back and shoulders supported by the back of the chair.

Keyboards should be kept clean and assessed to see if they are functioning properly. Problems such as sticky tab buttons or the angle of the keyboard’s slope should be adjusted immediately.

When you have an inappropriate static position of the body, like when you hunch you back or stoop your shoulders, breast muscles which give support and aesthetic look to our breasts get weaker very quickly, followed by losing their shape eventually.

Make a pen holder by yourself

Jun23

Making a pen holder is an interesting thing and it is also a perfect gift for your father or your friends. Don’t worry, it is very simple and you will learn it soon. First, you need prepare the raw material of pen holder. You can find the raw material everywhere. A food box , a can or the toilet paper holder are all can be used for making pen holder.

Cans that once held fruit or vegetables are easier to clean and are the right size. Cut out colorful ads from magazines or use gift wrap or construction paper to put on the outside of the can. Choose an ad or gift wrap paper that has a lighter background to make the letters D.A.D. Draw the letters with a pen on the paper in block letters, then cut them out. Glue the D.A.D. letters to the part of the can that you want to be the front. Using the brush, paint the outside of the can with glue. The glue will dry leaving a protective, shiny coat. You can add felt to the bottom of the can by simplying cutting out a round piece and attaching with glue. If you are going to turn the can into a soda holder, you can also put felt inside the can.

Paint craft sticks. Let dry. Trace the end of the toilet paper holder on to cardboard. Cut this circle out. Glue it on to one end of the cardboard tube. Let dry. Cover tube with a light coat of tacky glue. Place painted sticks side-by-side to cover tube. Wrap with rubber bands until dry. Decorate with painted, pre-cut wood shapes if desired.

Is it so easy? And it is a good way of saving resouces. Why not try it?

Dress your workspace

Some of us spent most of our time in the office. Are you bored of your office place well you don’t need to be bored. Here is a how to make your office more fun. Well you don’t need to do this on your office place but do it on a coworkers they will be pleased.

With most traditional methods of decoration there is the potential to cause damage. Sticky tape has a tendency to lift paint, poster-tac may leave oily residue or lift paint, and thumb tacks leave unsightly holes in walls.

A small item can make a big statement when strategically placed. So as not to offend anyone, a basic rule of thumb is “when in doubt, don’t.” Everything you love may not appeal to co-workers, subordinates or superiors who have to frequent your workspace on a daily basis. So simply use good old-fashioned tact and plain old common sense when decorating.

Photographs – a classic photo in a frame is always a good choice for a work space. An old magnet or sticky magnet strip purchased from a craft shop can be adhered to the back. Then simply ‘hang’ it on a filing cabinet. If you do not want to damage the photo, stick the magnet or Velcro onto a light photo frame instead.

Your coffee cup need not have the office logo – choose a bold pattern that suits your personality and your decor theme.

A cactus or a green plant is an excellent way to bring in a natural element to your office.

Decorating your office space provides many opportunities for those with crafty inclinations. Combine the love of making things with the necessities one usually requires on a desk for a satisfying resolution. Make your own pen holder, business card holder, or other useful desktop utility. Cardboard, paper machine, small and clean cardboard tubes, or glass jars can all transform into handy containers.

Naturally setting the tone in most corporate environments today, Work spaces do not need to be an impersonal part of our lives. We spend a lot of time there, so why not spruce it up a little with our own personal style.

How much do you know Inkjet Printer?

Jun17

There is wide rage of printer supplies available in the market today, Inkjet printer is one of the common types. Inkjet printers offer great value for the money, since they come awfully cheap (and often come as part of a new-computer package). Most inkjet printers have incorporated scanners, copiers, and even fax machines, so you’ll find a lot more in the All-in-One Printers section above. Still, a few only do one thing–print.

Inkjet printers are global bestsellers of today’s home tech market. They were released on the market already in 1976 but it took 12 years for the product to come down in price so the home consumers could afford buying it.

An inkjet printer works by spraying tiny dots of ink onto the page. Unlike laser jet printers, which layer one color at a time onto the page, inkjet printers can mix their colors, resulting in a greater range of hues and finer detail for images. If you’re mainly printing text with a few graphics, a laser printer is the best choice because you’ll get crisper text and lower per-page printing costs. For general use, and especially for printing photographs and elaborate images, inkjet printers are a far better choice.

Inkjet printers are generally Strong in the following areas:
Compact constructions even when combining different functions into a All In One Printer Inexpensive to Buy, read more in the OEM Cartridges article on why
Fast when printing few printouts since no printer warm up time is needed

Wide acceptance of paper types (note: most printers are optimized for one or more paper types)Inkjet printers aren’t built for high-volume printing, so they’re slower and have smaller paper tray capacities. It’s best to ignore the speed ratings on these printers, since manufacturers often base them on text-only printing at standard resolution.

How cute the paper clip is!

Jun16

clip

This clip was originally intended primarily for attaching tickets to fabric, although the patent recognized that it could be used to attach papers together. Middlebrook invented not just the paper clip but he also invented a machine to produce the paper clip. The first paper clip was invented in 1867 by Samuel Fay. The patent was issued on April 23, 1867 for a Ticket Fastener. Fay specified in the description that in addition to attaching tickets to garments it could be used to hold papers together.

They’re not what you think! Well, let me explain why I am contemplating using paper clips in the first place. Our invites have five pieces- 1) the main invite 2) the second reception invite 3) directions 4) RSVP envelope and 5) RSVP card. However, we didn’t do pocketfolds so I can only imagine how messy they’ll be when our guests open them! So we decided to tie a ribbon around the bunch with a cute lace bow. The ribbon helps keep the five pieces together, but does not keep them completely aligned.

We all have to learn to appreciate little things, to see the beauty in the details. Like Mi-So Sim does. And to show us, he designed these sweet paper clips. YOu can choose one according to your mood, to your feelings or to your intentions.

Fun LED Pen

Optical-Fiber-LED-Pen-20161516701

Pen has developed day by day. It has changed a lot these years. Do you wish you could jot down notes quickly and easily when the lights are off? How about when you’re outside at night? LIGHTS UP. One quick click, and your pen lights up, so you can write in  the dark, and see what you’re writing. The LED is lens- focused  to give you plenty of light where you need it, without disturbing others.

Jot it down quickly and go back to getting a good night’s rest, watching that film, driving, etc. The red light is soft on the eyes, so you won’t have to worry about jarring bright lights.

People across the U.S., Europe, and beyond have used these valuable lighted pens to:

  • Capture night-time thoughts on the writing project they’re working on
  • Keep dream journals
  • Jot down “to do” lists while in bed
  • Work outside at night
  • Take notes in a dark room, car, or other setting
  • Keep a medication log at night

Every one in a long while, it comes up with something we’d actually consider buying. And this is one of the exceptions: an LED message pen. We have no idea why–it’s not as if we need one to advertise our business or anything, though it would be pretty nifty to have one that lit up with “Crave.”

It is a a perfect gift to your firends. Everyone loves this pen.  something they’ll use and really enjoy…night and day.
